Chillin like a Villian *MAC Villians*

According to WWD magazine;

This September, Disney’s scoundrels are getting their due — in the form of a new color cosmetics collection, Venomous Villains, from MAC Cosmetics.

Four of Disney’s nastiest characters — Cruella De Vil of “101 Dalmations” fame, the Evil Queen from “Snow White,” Maleficient from “Sleeping Beauty” and Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog — are getting their own color lineups come Sept. 30.

“Come on — aren’t the nastier ones more fun?” laughed James Gager, senior vice president and creative director for MAC Cosmetics, who worked with Jennifer Balbier, vice president of product development for MAC, in collaboration with Disney to create the collection. “It’s great to be sweet and kind, of course, but everybody wants to take a bite of forbidden fruit from time to time.” And given MAC’s “all races, all ages, all sexes” positioning, Gager and Balbier were eager to include a guy — Dr. Facilier — in the mix.

The bold hues in the lineup — 40 in all, ranging in price from $12 to $29.50 and divided into four collections emblazoned with the characters’ images — were inspired by Pantone reproductions of Disney’s original drawings. “Disney gave us the colors used when these characters were drawn throughout their history,” said Balbier, noting that Cruella and the Evil Queen share more “real woman” shades, such as red lips and peachy blush. Maleficent is “pure fantasy,” said Balbier, noting that offbeat purples, blackened shades and pearlized nails were used. Dr. Facilier headlines the new Magically Cool Liquid Powders. “This is a featherlight powder that goes on like a mist and either sets or enhances foundation, but also lends dimensionality on naked skin,” said Balbier.

Muse #22 *Jungle Fever* Donde Estan Las Cosas Salvajes

In Muse #22 issue, Angela Lindvall shows us where the wild things are in a spread shot by Solve Sundsbo covered in large boldly colored prints and animal essenced skin tight body conscience suits. All beautiful works of art. My favorite, the leopard print naturally because I am a tiger.

Natalia Vodianova & Ewan McGregor by Peter Lindbergh for Vogue US July 2010

Magnificent Obsession

The latest issue of Vogue US  featuring Natalia Vodianova and actor Ewan McGregor illustrates a 1950s marriage gone wrong, but fashion gone right. Picture perfect on the outside, but crumbling within, It is quite the beautiful disaster.  Styled by Grace Coddignton with a vintage twist on the latest fall collections from fashion greats, Oscar del la Renta, Christian Dior, and Ralph Lauren just to name a few. Clothes certainly don't make the woman, but if they did, she would be dressed like this.

Rachel Zoe to launch her own line, I DIE!

According to WWD, Stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe, will launch her own long over due fashion brand  which will be a lifestyle brand, contemporary accessories, shoes and apparel, for now, and later a home decor line that will launch in better department stores, specialty stores and e-commerce worldwide for fall 2011 this fall after inking a deal with LF USA. Heres more form WWD;

Nothing is designed yet, but Zoe, who is in the process of hiring a design team, said, "You will definitely see me in the clothes. Like, you will absolutely see my trademark pieces. I'll definitely do faux furs and incredible leather jackets and great trousers. But I'm catering to a broader audience."

 Thanks to her Bravo reality show, "The Rachel Zoe Project" (season three airs Aug. 3), that audience is largely built in. The second season drew an average of 1 million viewers, who are by now well versed in Zoe's signature look: famously overaccessorized and anchored in sunny, Seventies glam. Add to that her sparrowlike frame and tumbling blonde hair, a million strands of which are carpeting the carpet of her suite at the Trump Soho, and the package has made her an easy target. She's a girl girls love to hate.

"I've been burned more times than one could count," said Zoe. Too many times. That's my own fault for being a bit naïve, but I can tell you it won't happen again. I can tell you that you just got to keep 10 eyes open. You do. And, I think, as a woman, people want to see women go down a little quicker."

But behind the fabulous fashion and "Oh my God!," Zoe knows how to operate. "The bottom line for me is if I'm passionate about it, I will sell it like crazy because I love it," said Zoe.

I couldnt have said it better myself

Tom Binns Disney Couture

“I would rather have eyes that cannot see; ears that cannot hear; lips that cannot speak, than a heart that cannot love”

Tom Binns has yet to create a piece for Disney Jewelry that does not take me back to a time of lighthearted laughter fun and easy going playfulness. His Disney couture designs some how capture the whimsical fantasy of Alice in Wonderland but still manage to sprinkle sophistication making it suitable for even those out of junior high.
   His latest edition, Disney Couture Hearts necklace. A beautiful cascade of chain layered black hearts. Available for pre-order here, for the girl who is over wearing her heart on her sleeve, she wears not one but many of all the hearts shes conquered.

Certainly Not A Last Resort-Lanvin Resort 2011

“Sometimes if you go too clean, you lose a dream, and women would be nothing without that lasting dream, and far-fetched fantasy.” -Alber Elbaz
