Rachel Roy Spring 2012 Ready to Wear
Rachel Roy's collection this season didn't excite me as her past collections have. Base colors included the familiar black and white with a splash of turquoise, common this in Spring collections, navy, corals, and grey knit similar to seasons past Rodarte. Inspired by 1920's Vietnam, these pieces would make for great sleepwear. Slouchy jackets, relaxed suiting, mixed with mandarin collars and silk wrap blouses. My favorites, few and far in between, here they are;

Dear Rachel, Please Don't Play with My Emotions.
Bravo Bravo and Bravo to an excellent marketing team. While checking email this morning I discovered this personalized blast from RachelRoy.com And like a five year old because it was personalized with my name and so visually appealing it must be especially made for me. Off to the website I went to check out the latest and the greatest. Which wouldn't be a bad thing if; A. Rachel Roy wasn't becoming a staple in my wardrobe and a dent in my savings or B. I wasn't just there a few weeks ago lusting for the Cold as Ice Necklace! or C. Name a pair of pants "The Sari Pant"! Now of course I must have them.
Here are my top choices from this time go round;
"Bon Voyage" printed short-sleeve dress with tie waistband. Please note this style is available for pre-order and ships no later than 4/29.
Denim linen pant with two front pockets and pleating. Please note this style is available for pre-order and ships no later than 4/29.
Indian inspired wrapped twill pant with elastic waistband. Please note this style is available for pre-order and ships no later than 4/29.

Rachel Roy Jewelry Collection~ What I Need NOW!
Rachel Roy has become one of my favorite go to American designers. Her designs are easy to wear, well draped, well made and smart. As we all know, Rachel Roy launched her diffusion line, RACHEL Rachel Roy, which is sold exclusively at Macy’s in 2009 and of course has been a major hit. Along with clothing, accessories were also made available and the jewelry line melts my heart. Have a look below, at my favorite promo shot, of her jewelry line, and by now you can guess why. It exudes, punk with hints of golden chained metal glamour, the Punk and Privilege lifestyle in a very sexy nutshell.

Boyfriend's Girlfriends
Easy as Sunday morning takes on a new meaning when you trade in wearing his rolled up at the waist boxers while reading the weekend funnies for more tailored sophisticated pieces for your Monday 9am. Unisex, trend of boyfriends blazers, boyfriend jeans, oxford button downs, have been spotted last season this current season and in previews of upcoming seasons. This trend can be best pulled off when matched with more fitting feminine pieces, for example loose boyfriend jeans rolled up and worn with heels as seen above. Big with big equals big, so if your sporting a loose boxy cut oxford shirt pair it with skinny jeans or even better belt it! The boyfriend blazer is major and can come in a slew of different styles and materials and can be worn with just about anything, seriously anything, for a polished finishing touch.
I'm currently loving the Rachel by Rachel Roy sequin boyfriend blazer. Which is sold out, because its an awesome piece and it fits well, which believe it or not matters more than even the sequins.
If your just starting out experimenting with boyfriend cuts, the perfect place to warm up is American Apparel. Everything is affordable, looks great on an can be layered over or under. They have unisex oxford shirts, cardigans, v-necks, crew necks and the list goes on and on. Enjoy this look, have fun, feeling frumpy your first time, stilettos and wide belts fix the boxiest of cuts. I love boys who, like boys, but I love girls who dress like boys more!
