Its the most wonderful time of there year! Fashion week is just a few short weeks away and I will agree with a lot of chatter I've heard. Its seems as though its a big fad to be interested in fashion. All of a sudden everyone is a fashion blogger, everyone is an editor everyone has an online magazine reporting on the hottest industry events and the latest high fashion. Some fashion veterans seem lightly annoyed by this. ( Sort of like when you've been at the gym all year then in january its packed and you cant get an elliptical machine because all these resolution people pop up) While I'm certainly no veteran, in the least, I feel that its a wonderful thing for people to branch out and try different things and explore their creativity, the more the merrier you never know where someone may find their inspiration.
Now, moving forward lets say you're just starting off and you were granted access to tons of fashion week parties, networking events and a few shows here and there by the great fashion Gods. We always want to put our best foot forward, so you MUST do your research. Yes of course you can go for the drinks, photo-ops and to wear your new Wang bag, but, if you're serious about this and want to make it meaningful you have work to do and not a lot of time. First i would liek to call yoru attention to the column on the right side of this blog, you will see a list of designers, click on anyone to read a few lines about them and their collection, familiarize yourself. Next and possibly the most difficult but for me the most fun. Designer Pronunciation! Heres a rough list that you can begin with, so you can have an idea of french vowels ect. (I must tell you you lose brownie points if you show up to an event in a sharp should Balmain jacket you paid thousands of dollars for but, call it BALL-MAANE. I've seen the looks, I've heard the chuckles, if you read my blog I care about you and want you to be awesome so lets be the absolute best)
