Black Girls Rock Awards 2009

This past weekend, Saturday October 17th was the 2009 Fourth Annual Black Girls Rock! awards. This star studded event was hosted by Actress Regina King and Tracee Ellis Ross. Honoring Mary J. Blige, Raven Symone, Sonia Sanchez, Naomi Campbell just to name a few.
Black Girls Rock! was founded by hip hop dj Beverly Bond and seeks to bring about awareness and change in the way in which young women of color are being portrayed and portraying themselves in hip hop culture. I feel empowered instantly!  Here are some of the fabulous women in entertainment who attended.
