Burberry Prorsum Leather Studded Biker Jacket

And I would wear this in a boat!
And I would wear this with a goat...
And I will wear this in the rain.
And in the dark. And on a train.
And in a car. And in a tree.
This is just so amazing you see!

So I will wear this in a box.
And I will wear this with a fox.
And I will wear this in a house.
And I will wear this with a mouse.
And I will wear this here and there.
Say! I will wear this ANYWHERE!

Debuting this Spring, and all over everywhere that counts, Christopher Bailey bring out our insubordinate side, with beautifully crafted leather studded biker jackets. I truly love it in the cream leather shown on Kristen Cavallari for Elle Magazine's, Elle Style A To Zee section where Creative Director Joe Zee displays it as "The Staple" item. Who's staple you may ask, mine of course!

New York Fashion Week Brief *No Strings Attached, Cordless*

Let me start off by saying its Wednesday and it has been a whirlwind, of a week! And not in a good way, however I digress, and refocus thanks to a little September Issue guidance from Ms. Anna Wintour and dearest Andre.

Anyhow, so many shows so little time. I decided to do this fashion week review a little different than I've done them in the past. Instead of having one singular post for each designer showcasing my favorite styles of their complete collection, I will compile them into one posting, that i will continuously update as the shows go on, giving you my most favorite look from my most favorite shows and a small briefing of what to expect, what to look for and how to prepare for this upcoming fall season. Shall we begin?

Hervé Léger by Max Azria

Unexpected and everything you'd imagine in signature Herve Leger style. Basket weaved skirts, and banded tops paired with go-go knee high boots A-line shapes and furturistic cut outs. Appreaing in creamy nuetral fall shades, including a warm carmel, pumpkin-y color.

Marchesa

"And I dont think youre beautiful, I think you're beyond it"
If ever there were a collection that made you feel as though, love could conquer all, this would be it. Filled with romantic drama, Marchesa collection included, Victorian inspired lace overlays and slightly destroyed silk tulle. "One dress had leather cut into lace, and on another the lace beading was inserted with wire and sat like fantastical metallic flowers on a bodice" according to Meenal Mistry. My heart ultimately stopped for the embroidered floral pattern in crystal, jet and seed pearls.

Jen Kao

This collection just made me smile, for everything as a child that caught my eye. It was a hodgepodge of,  golds, electric colors, sparkles and fringe. Almost like being deep in a ocean surrounded by glo and zebra fish. I enjoyed the golden beaded tights for every look, sultry navy body suiting and fish net tops.

Wednesday Child is Full of Woe

Wednesday is here and Tuesday was such a head spin, who has time to think about a D.I.Y blow dry and it is New York Fashion Week. I came across this little tutorial on fishbone braiding and things of that sort. Chic and easy enough, it took me a few tries but the more messy the better it actually looked! I may need to add this to my signature look!

My try at it.
(please excuse the pimple, lack of makeup, lipgloss, chap stick, ANYTHING! lol rough evening)

Katy Perry for OPI Shatter

Katy Perry for OPI Shatter collection, is an absolute blast! You may remember a few months ago, when Serena William's Grand Slam Shatter collection debuted however, I was truly disappointed with the lack of color choices but, still thought the concept was easy, artistic, funky and affordable!
The shattered collection with Katy Perry is available in 4 shades from left to right: Last Friday Night, Not Like the Movies, The One That Got Away, Teenage Dream and Black Shatter.

I thougth to myself, yes the colors look great, as do the ads, but, is it really just that easy to achieve, this glittery crackled look. And the answer is YES. Have a look at one of the many OPI shattered videos on you tube displaying how this look is achieved, and not by nail tech or makeup artist, but ordinary nail painters looking for a little edge just like you and I. Enjoy!

Realizing, I'd be up working for most of the evening, and having watched all the Sex and the City episodes on demand and checking through emails I received this;

That's right. We're announcing the iTunes debut of the second Strictly Social Diva digital comp - their release with top dance label Strictly Rhythm, remixed by The Wizard Brian Coxx. Yes, his track "Killing Me (feat. Sandy Spady) was on the original Strictly Social Diva release.

Soulful, sexy and beautiful house tracks - just like you. The song titles aren't called "Something (So Good)" and "Love Sweet Sound" for nothing. Translation: they're Strictly the most diva-worthy grooves and an essential addition for any dance collection.

Vogue Nippon (Japan)

While putting together a vision board for Rich & Rebellious' Spring collection of jewelry I came across this Vogue Nippon editorial and was left more than inspired. Remembering less is never more, more is always more, and as they say the more the merrier.

Chanel Coco Rogue Lipstick

Finding the perfect shade of red lipstick can be quite a challenge. Not only considering your complexion, eye color hair color and skin undertones, you also must consider your personality. Are you an out going bright red, a sexy sultry deep red, or an everyday playful red?
Well, Chanel makes this common devil colored dilemma much easier, by creating what's said to be a universally flattering Chanel Coco Rouge lipstick in Gabrielle. Don't believe me? Have a look for yourself, featured in this months Elle Magazine, the cast of Parenthood Joy Bryant, Erika Christensen, Monica Potter, Lauren Graham all wearing this absolutely perfect shade!

Katie Holmes Elle US Magazine February 2011

Finally thumbing through February's collection of magazines, Elle US should have been at the top of the pile! I knew Elle would make its way to my mail box once I saw February's issue on news stands, we're usually a day or two apart, however I paid it no mind because honestly the news stand cover with Katie Holmes was a little ho-hum for me.

My first thought was, awful pose, why so much pelvis. However, the cover I received in my mailbox was something very powerful, confident and feline-like. I actually at a glance thought it was Halle Berry.  Featuring a sultry Katie, like you've never seen her before, and displaying Spring fashions that will leave you flipping the pages for more. Have a look;

Who What Wear Chanel S/S 11 Show DIY

What a fabulous concept! Shall we give it a go?

While your Who What Wear editors didn't actually experience the flamboyant festiveness of the disco era ourselves, we have a huge crush on it nevertheless. Admittedly, our adoration might be a little naive, but between the many films that glorify that period and the stories we've heard about Studio 54-induced wildness, can you really blame us for falling for such a hedonistic and happy time? Not so much. Hopefully this explains why we're thrilled that so many designers are referencing disco's more glamorous moments this season, complete with slinky jumpsuits, killer platform heels, and dance-floor-ready earrings. Speaking of the latter, we think a pair of shoulder-grazing chain earrings might offer one of the easiest and most modern ways to incorporate a touch of late '70s style into your current closet, which is why we're spotlighting them in today'sD.I.Y.!

As far as inspiration goes, we noticed a truly amazing pair at the Chanel S/S 11 show and immediately wanted them for ourselves. The long, lean, metal chain Gold/Black Snake Earrings ($1760, 212.334.0055, available in late February) accented an array of ensembles, ranging from lavish, feather-trimmed cocktail frocks to prim, monochromatic day looks. From their lithe silhouette to their dramatic ombre coloring, these earrings have a luxuriously edgy look we love. Plus, we can certainly imagine the era's best-dressed women—like Bianca Jagger and Margaux Hemingway—wearing this exact pair for a night on the town, making them all the more obsession-worthy in our opinion.

Since we have more time than money on our hands right now, we wondered if it would be possible to recreate these insanely gorgeous runway earrings ourselves. Not knowing where to start, we rang our Do-It-Yourself guru—the one and only Erica Domesek of P.S. I Made This—and asked for a little help. Happily for us all, Domesek explained the project in seconds flat and made our disco dreams come true with her easy-to-follow instructions. You'll find all the necessary details below, so break out the tools, it's time to get crafty!

INGREDIENTS
-28 6-inch chains
-28 small (3mm) jump rings
-4 large (4mm) jump rings
-2 Earrings Posts
-2 Ribbon Clamps
-Fishing Line
-Gorilla Super Glue ($6)
-Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Spray Paint ($5) in Black
-Wire Cutters
-Small Pliers

DIRECTIONS
If you are particularly crafty and want to make your own earrings, please start with Step 1. If you're a little lazy or uninterested in this part of the project, you can simply buy similar earrings—like Gorjana's Vintage Chain Tassel Earrings ($48)—and paint them. If you decide to do the latter, please start with Step 8.

1. Divide chains and jump rings into two separate groups. You will need 14 chains, 14 small jump rings, and 2 large jump rings for each earring.

2. For the first earring, use pliers to attach a small jump ring to the end of one chain. Repeat on the 13 remaining chains, so that each chain has a single jump ring.

3. Separate your chains into 2 equal sets; that's 7 chains per set, if you don't like counting.

4. Attach each set of 7 chains to 1 large jump ring (see images in Step 3).

5. Connect the 2 large jump rings to create your first earring. Again, you should have 14 chains in total per earring (see images in Step 3).

6. Repeat Steps 2-5 for the second earring.

7. Now it's time to mount the earrings to the ribbon clamps. For the first earring, thread a piece of fishing line through the 2 large jump rings, then thread the line through the top of the ribbon clamp. Tie a triple knot to secure the earring to the clamp, and then clip any excess fishing line. Repeat for the second earring.

8. Phew! You're done with construction—now you can spray paint! First, make sure you're in a well-ventilated area. Next, you'll need to prep and protect your workspace; we suggest picking a flat area (duh) and covering it with old magazines or newspapers.

9. Cover the top half of your earrings with a piece of paper, leaving the lower half exposed for paint.

10. Apply a thin layer of black spray paint to bottom half of the earrings. Leave them flat on the workspace for approximately 15 minutes or until dry. Flip the earrings over and lightly spray the other side. (Note: too much paint will make the chains clump and stick together—eek!)

11. Once the earrings are fully dry—at least 15 minutes, but possibly much more—apply a small amount of Gorilla Super Glue to the back of each earring post. Hold the posts against the ribbon clamps for approximately ten seconds until firmly in place. Voila! Disco earrings!—Jessica Baker
