Inspired by 1927 sci-fi classic Metropolis, Chanel's backdrop at its haute couture show was something out of a movie, and the clothing, something out of a dream. A very dark seductive dream filled with structured intricately shaped tweed, dark beading, and shades of grey, white, midnight blue and splashes of fuchsia. Can a classic tweed suit be taken from stuffy to smoking? Is it possible to take a time honored blue print and give it more detail, new shape, and continue every season to make it fresh?
