Snake Charmer

Even if a snake is not poisonous, it should pretend to be venomous.

Rings are a fun accessory that not only can be used to decorate your outfit, but they're able to convey a message. Wether the message comes from an engagement finger that says I'm married or a divorce ring, that according to Lisa Bower can symbolizes hope, freedom, and a new beginning. I have collected a few rings over time now, and while I wouldn't say I've purchased one particular ring to express a specific message, I'm a lover of big intricate statement pieces be it jewelry clothing or accessories and interesting pieces always catch my eye. Recently, spotted on some unique fashionistas was this amazing Adderbite Snake Ring by Alchemy. Two finger rings, are all thats on my mind right now, and this rings does it in such a clever way for a great price $45! Below, is the matchless snake ring of my dreams which Im hoping arrives this week and as far as what message it conveys.....FEARLESS.

The Best Damn Eyebrow Tutorial, Period.

I have been asked about what I do, to my eyebrows in regards to makeup and maintenance a few times.  and its very simple. First I should tell you, I am extremely anal when it comes to my eyebrows, because I have a large face and I feel a thick, squared shape suits me best. Everyone has had their hair removal horror stories, but I can tell you exactly how I want my eyebrows in English, Spanish and Cantonese. Once the strays are removed, I use powder and an angled brush and fill in where they thin out. I've tried stencils, razors, and threading (which by the way I will never ever ever do again, Im quite partial to pain but that was just unbearable to me personally) but with very fine eyebrows, waxing seems to give me the best result with the least amount of pain, but of course do what works best for you to achieve your desired result.

I could try to describe in a million words what to do but without a proper video tutorial it wouldn't be much fun. The bad news is, after a recent trip I am terribly sun burned and I will not be recording anything not even a voicemail! Now for the good news, I have found the *QUEEN* of all eyebrow tutorials!! Seriously, its incredibly easy and produces neat natural glamorous results. I of course wouldn't post with out trying first, I loved the results and think you will too. Check it out and let me know if this works for you or what your eyebrow tricks of the trade are.

Watchmen

This summer, aside from the enormous embellished bibbs, the colossal editor statement rings, and all the joy bling can bring, earrings. One of the most important classic items you can sport is a great watch. Classic in a traditional staple sense however, anything but boring.  While gold watches are a time honored tradition, big face gold finish models are being seen everywhere from national fashion campaigns, such as Michael Kors, catwalks as well as sidewalks. Ranging in all prices, whether you're choice is simple or over the top you're sure to find something in your price range and to your liking. I am a fan of large face watches and like them to hang a bit, and if this is your preference also, my suggestion would be purchase a mens watch and have a few links removed at your local jeweler. Above are a few twist on the standard style!

Hair Party 24

Imagine its New Years Eve at 11:30 and you had to work a double shift. You've had no time for a proper blow out and a manicure was just not attainable with your wacky work hours. You of course want to bring the New Year in with a bang and possible double process highlights and UV gel french tips. Sound like a dream, Or even a nightmare?! Well not anymore!
I recently hooked up with one of my favorite girlfriends and a  long time friend who had moved out of town. With all of our conflicting schedules it was hard enough to pick the perfect timing for dinner let alone, after dessert festivities. It was decided that we would check out the newest sensation in New York, 24 hour salons. We made out way over to Madison Avenue and 28th street to Hair Party 24, who had been visited by the fabulous Olivia Palermo, where we were warmly greeted and welcomed and offered hot or cold beverages. We opted to save hair services for another day and went with manicure and pedicure services. They have a vast variety of polish including everything Essie has to offer, and CHANEL polish. (Hello, what else do you need) This is a large full service salon offering massages, makeup for various events, from natural to theater, cut, coloring, extensions and in the wink of an eye blow dries all of which are reasonably priced, especially for the convenient flatiron location. The staff, all very sweet, helpful and efficient.  Here's a link to their website and check out some photos of our candid photos of the evening below.

THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART'S Spring 2010 COSTUME INSTITUTE Benefit Gala, sponsored by GAP and CONDE NAST, Hosted by Co-chairs PATRICK ROBINSON, ANNA WINTOUR and OPRAH WINFREY

American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity
Taking place once a year, one of my absolute favorite event needs no introduction, but heres one anyway. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume National Benefit, always brings out the best of the best in models celebs and socials and displays the most beautiful crafted most creative and intricate of designer textile dreams. Infusing 1800 Chicago world fair charm, and modern glamour, this event was nothing short of magical. From the A-list host to the renowned glitterati to my favorite little monster Gaga performing, fashion was everywhere to be found. While champagne-y nude colored gowns and gold embellishments seemed to be most popular no one trend was better than the next. They ranged from deep jewel tone plums and berries, floral prints, navy and tons of tool. Keeping it subtle in the bling department, there wasn't an abundance of neck candy however, for those who opted for extra sparkle, adorned gems form designers such as, Cartier, Fred Leighton, David Yurman, Harry Winston and Lorraine Schwartz just to name a few. Listed below are my ABSOLUTE top picks of the night in no particular order.

Jennifer Lopez, in Zuhair Murad, with Cartier and Stephen Russell jewels and a Leiber clutch

Rachel Roy with Liya Kebede, in a look by the designer, with Fred Leighton jewels.

Nicole Richie, in Marc Jacobs with Harry Winston jewels and a Marc Jacobs clutch.

Mila Kunis, in a Vera Wang Dress with Fred Leighton jewels

Jason Wu with Camilla Belle, in his design with Cartier jewels.

Eva Mendes, in Dolce & Gabbana with Verdura jewels and a Leiber clutch

Sarah Jessica Parker, in Halston Heritage, with Fred Leighton and VBH jewels.

All Types of Fab, Kimora Lee Simmons

I've been super focused on the business aspect of fashion, retail, lifestyle, and luxury branding. Which has consisted of networking, interworking, and some exciting reworking. In my travels, I was extremely fortunate, to have met, Kimora Lee Simmons at a business seminar. She was gorgeous to say the least smart, funny, extremely knowledgeable. She gave specific branding an development pointers and details when building your business or breaking into an already existing company. Very insightful and inspiring, fabulous and still very approachable and down to earth. Great lessons to be learned. Girl Power.

I also had the pleasure of meeting and having a brief chat with Christopher Michael, Kimora's makeup artist/friend. He was the epitome of effortless style. Very well tailored jeans, rich purple cashmere sweater and fantastic shoes. (I notice everything) He has a great spirit, and during our chat we discussed my previous fields and where I would like to head moving forward. Great personality, he's my favorite, because he is seems genuine, honest and straight forward, which are traits not easily found in this industry. And he knows his makeup, what else do you need???

Delivered! Barbie Loves Stila

Previously, I posted about the Barbie Loves Stila can collection. It totally slipped my mind until a received an email about it being on sale on one of my favorite sample sale sites. (Which you can check out in the right column of my blog, shameless plug but I clearly SO worth it) My favorite of all being the Malibu Barbie, naturally. Though all cans contained flattering colors, I adore pink lips, heavy mascara and bronzer, so this was the clear choice. In this particular can you were given, a 3 Pan Palette with a soft shimmering pale pink eye shadow, a sky blue eye shadow with white shimmer, and a golden bronze bronzer, Lip Glaze in Malibu, and Lash Visor Waterproof Mascara in Black I was initially skeptical because of my skin tone I wondered if the light blue shadow and bronzer that came in the pallette would show enough pigment but I was pleasently suprised! It was the perfect amount of pigment. The bronzer is perfect, one swipe gives a sun kissed glow and your able to build up a personalized fake-bake to your liking. The blue shadow is soft with just a hint of sparkle, and the gloss, comes in a delicate fleshy pink shade, nothing street walk more board walk and the complete look, is going to be my summer signature! Have a look for yourself pick one up for yourself here Barbie Loves Stila.
