Chain Reaction, The more the merrier! Fenton-Fallon for J.Crew

I mentioned the J.Crew Carrington crystal bow necklace having been created as a one of a kind piece for Michelle Obama, in a previous post however, I left out the fantastic details. Having met at a dinner party, J.Crew creative director Jenna Lyons and Fenton-Fallon designer Dana Lorenz, were a match made in collaboration heaven! They joined forces to create Fenton-Fallon for J.Crew, comprised of limited edition pieces, ranging in prices from $95-$295, think punk princess. Spikes, chains, ribbons and bows, the collection consist of statement necklaces and chunky metal bracelets. Amazing quality affordable prices. Bravo, this is interfacing at its best. Have a look.

Be All That You Can Be

Not in the army silly! On Project Runway! This is actually a subliminal post, to a dear friend of mine who has all the creativity, smarts, and knowledge not to mention killer shoes and wardrobe, to not only own the next season of P.R but to shut it completely down. I can only hope this advertisement serves as the inspiration she needs as well as the kick in the pants! I also hope this is the motivation that a lot of other amazing designers out there take this step on to become a legacy. Go for it little monsters (in GAGA voice), I believe in all of you. (-;

H&M Haul ****UPDATE*****

Saturday morning I made my way down to H&M to check out the Garden Collection, as well as a few other items that caught my eye. I was very pleased with the look and quality of the items. Though because of the proportions of my body, the best accessory that I had handy was my belt.  The collection contains beautiful deep reds royal blues and floral prints done in ruffles drapy and flowy fabrics. I've mentioned in a previous post what my favorite pieces were, however, the main item I wanted to pick up, the floral print kimono dress was unavailable at the location. I will try again tomorrow. Here's what I did have a chance to try;

This is my typical saturday outfit, very comfortable and easy to change out of for trying clothing on, messy hair, no makeup very low maintenance. Here Forever 21 gold jacket, American Apparel Sexuali tee, H&M long cardigan, Guess embellished flats, and LOTS of hardware! I will discuss the large vintage rings in a up and coming post they have a very interesting story.

This jacket was pretty cool, on clearance for $10 bucks, it was a light weight textured 3/4 sleeve jacket with hook eye closure, great cut and lined. Quite a steal!

Part of the Garden Collection, this red rose textured 3/4 sleeve cropped jacket was my most favorite item. Im a big fan of strong and exaggerated  sleeves. The color, didn't show up as I would have liked because of camera phone but its a very vibrant true red.

Next up is the floral ruffled shirt, which was available in 3 different patterns I believe. I really like the sleeves but it was one of the items that looked best on me accompanied with a belt.

This was an item that i found while browsing, I really love the soft peachy color for spring and the ruching of the fabric, makes it less simple, and more versatile, giving the option as both dressy and casual.

This dress was another example of "saved by the belt". I tried on the dress in a medium and it looked like a trash bag but when paired with a belt, Abra Cadabra! Structure and shape! Also the color was a deeper and more beautiful ocean like blue.( smh picking up new phone tomorrow)

Last but not least, my second most favorite item of the day. This black grommet studded shoulder mini situation. This was UNBELIEVABLE. The quality of the fabric was wonderful, very heavy and thick. The shoulders obviously would make Michael Jackson and any Balmain lover proud. The price, a very cool 59 bucks....Totally worth double! Very sexy, very chic.  What else do you need???

****UPDATE*****

Another day with no makeup, bed head, awful lighting, and blurry camera shots excuse me. I went back today, in hopes of finding the Kimono sleeve floral dress and I DID!!!! Not only did i find the dress I also found the above ensemble.  I would have never ever ever chosen this for myself and thats a great thing because it looks totally different from anything I have in my closet and I've really been trying to branch out and try new things. More of Garden Collection delight, the floral print tank is great and has a hidden bra inside, love the fabric, except they didn't have my size and this one was too big in the chest area. The shorts, were extremely comfortable and comes in the collections signature deep ocean blue color. Though ruffle detail especially around the hip area can get messy and frumpy, I found these shorts flattering and comfortable and very pretty. Last but not least the boyfriend blazer was a great topper to complete the look. Great neutral color, nice cut and tones down the sexy just enough to make this appropriate for daytime and keep your shoulders warm without taking away from the hypnotic attraction of the fabrics and shapes.
