Mesmerized by Edward Steichen’s 1924 portrait of Hollywood legend Gloria Swanson and her intense stare through a veil of lace, Rachel Roy was inspired to imagine what type of woman she would be. Channeling the allure of the East, Roy experimented with jeweled exotic prints, plenty of unexpected lace prints and over-the-top feather embroidery — all in classic silhouettes with a modern twist. Roy says she expresses herself through fashion and hopes to inspire her customers to do the same.

UPTOWNSocial » Couture Meets Casual: Valentino x Gap
Esteemed fashion house Valentino has gone through many changes in the last few years. Valentino Garavani stepped down as creative director and Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Picciolo took over the reigns. While maintaining brand integrity and couture craftsmanship, Chiuri and Picciolo are shifting the brand to a more wearable, daily living line, rather than an exclusively red carpet brand. And what better way to accomplish that goal than by collaborating with Gap, the ultimate American sportswear company?
In celebration of Gap’s arrival in Italy, Valentino has produced a seven-piece capsule collection. Merging Valentino’s feminine flair of ruffles and bows with Gap’s stylish basics, the collection is composed of wearable, fashionable, and luxurious basics. An above-the-knee tiered khaki skirt with a bow on the hip, a soothing grey T-shirt accented with an oversize bow, a hooded sweatshirt—a Gap staple—and cargo pants with frill-bordered pockets make up the core of the collection.
The most stunning piece is the parka. Fashioned in heavyweight khaki cotton and adorned with three-dimensional ruffles, the parka is available in three different styles: the jacket, a hooded cropped jacket, and a longer parka accented with ruffles around the neckline.
Unfortunately, the collection is not available in the U.S. or online, so you may have to call in a few international favors to get your hands on some.
Valentino x Gap collection is now available at select stores throughout Europe: Gap in Milan and Britain, and Colette in Paris.

MAC X Nicki Minaj Pink Friday
I am possibly the latest person in the world posting on the MAC X Nicki Minaj Pink Friday lipstick and the irony of it is, I had it before it became available to the public but, If it weren't for the last minutes leading up to weeks after, I wouldn't get anything done.
MAC launched Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday limited edition lipstick on Black friday and was only available for four consecutive days while supplies last. Nicki and I both shared a love for MAC's Pink Nouveau lipstick, though at times depending on my tan it could could look too bright against the yellow undertones in my face.
Pink Friday, luckily is a muted with blue undertone, a creamy satin cotton candy shade that blends well with my face even with lack of sun and or bronzer. It just works.
Pink Friday ofcourse is currently sold out but , it will return (available online only) on Dec. 10 and 17.

Kate Spade New York Charm Shoes
These shoes are so beautiful in person, and I've had my eye on them for sometime, especially with the load of holiday parties on the horizon. The are currently $325 at Nordstrom, which is very practical compared to the Louboutin Pigalle shoes. I also love the bow on the Charm shoes, some may say its too much, but by now you all know for me its just enough. Anyhow, I digress. I found these Kate Spade Charm shoes, in Marshalls in harlem for the low low price of $179.99 yesterday. We are all smiles.

Featured on MyFlashTrash.com 30 fashion icons by way of Defiles form Paris. Ranging in prices $80 to $390 I am a devoted Karl follower yet conflicted on if this could be seen as a chic collectors item or a cheesy 40 Year Old Virgin action figure. I have recently felt quite bored with basic manicures, and though I haven't been daring enough to jump on the Minx nail trend and though I opted too soon for teflons; I received a very exciting email from Daily Candy giving me a great incentive to try something new. Check out the email below.

"The Best Head Comes From a Thug"-Khia
I was recently inspired by an Anna Dello Russo blog post about her collection of head-pieces and now heads;
"My last passion is HEAD-PIECES
to collect them and to preserve them is a problem because they going to die if they are not worn.
Then I've started the collection of HEADS matching with the WIGS to be able to visualize better the look of the HATS" Anna
After reading this post I began to think and survey my room, and come to think of it I too was a head collector. Here are a few flicks of some I hope to have in my possession by summer.
