You've gotta fight for your right,to be FIERCE. *Mac Style Warrior*

When it comes to makeup I am a simple girl. I have three basic looks. Gold/Brown eyeshadow nude glossy lips, Black smokey eyes with glossy nude lips or Cream/Beige eyeshadow with VERY pink glossy lips. All adorned with a very thin liquid eyeline on top eyelid, about ten coats of mascara (its not as much as it sounds) and Mac Gingerly blush for nude looks or Mac Flushed blush for pink lips. (Though a friend of mine recently gave me Mac Love thing mineralize blush I think its too dark for me so I'll have to trade it for a different color.) Here's an upcoming collection from Mac, Style Warrior and though I can't promise I'll ever where brown lipstick, I'm easily persuaded by shiny, glowy things and I NEED whatever pearlized situation this woman has on her face. AND I NEED it like tomorrow! With fabulous names for the eye shadows and lipsticks I would purchase a lipglass solely for the zebra print casing. *sighs* I'm so easy.

Enjoy!

Status Quo

A few months ago, a friend of mine who was obviously tired of my handbag fetish, posed a question to me..... What is your status bag? What is the handbag to end all handbags. What is the bag you want so bad that you say THIS will be my last bag. I won't need ANY other purse after this one? The bag you've only dreamed about but, you know when you have his bag you can exhale and say to yourself, I have arrived.....in style (-:

So the first thing that flew out of my mouth before thinking was OMG Monogram canvas Louis Vuitton luggage, no no no no no not just the 55 keepall or even the carry all. OH No No NO, we go hard or go home. L-U-G-G-A-G-E!!! Monogram Canvas Pégase 60, Monogram Canvas Sirius 70, Cruiser bag for makeup, Boite Flacons, Monogram Canvas Deauville to carry on, then I stopped and thought about it. While I wanted all these things they were just things and none had a strong sentimental value. They were just wants not needs. I'd quickly grow tired being able to only use my last designer accessory for travel. So I sat and thought back as far as I could and tried to remember to how I saw myself as an adult when I was about 10 years old. And it came to me, blurry at first then very clear....fuchsia cashmere cardigan, huge black aviator shades, very glossed lips, pearl necklace and wait, wait a second, whats that around my shoulder.........GOT it....OF COURSE!!! EXTRA-Large Chanel Caviar Quilted handbag with chain strap!!!! Hellooooooo! So there it is. Not just any bag, but, my bag fantasy. My bag to end all bags, serious enough that I would never want for another for as long as I live. Strong, Classy, Simple, Elegant yet large enough to say if you don't open the front door I'm going to kick down the back. The bag that rings the silent door bell of life and lets you know, I have arrived. so without further adu, I present to you not just a handbag, but an invitation to my future.

Everyday is an occasion when this is your armpiece. The perfect bag "The Bag" can be both polished and practical and show who you are. Special is standard.

"A beautiful, luxurious handbag conveys glamour and style to the world."-Donatella Versace

Ice Princess

I absolutely adore Betsey Johnson. Not only did her runway show rock this season but her jewelry line always makes me shake my head in disbelief then head to the checkout counter! Her pieces tend to be some what over the top and excessive. Just like me (-: Here we have her Ice Princess Multi Strand Bow Necklace & Heart Earring Set. I very much love!

*Wrap it up* Herve Leger Bandage Dress

Herve Leger can almost be called the "King of Stripes. On fire since the 80's, practically every one of his designs, has stripes or bands in some form or other. These colourful designs are made from elastic bandages hand-stitched together and are very distinctive. His Bandage dresses are the epitome of the phrase Go Hard or Go Home. These amazing dress made of 90% rayon/9% nylon/1% spandex depending on the design, conceal everything bad and accentuate EVERYTHING GOOD! Ive seen the most petite of women to the most voluptuous in these body hugging dresses and I have yet to see anyone look bad. Seriously! Here are a few from the Spring collection. Which can be found in Saks, Bloomingdales, Nordrstom, and my favorite Intermix.

LOD (Look of the Day)

Ok so I know I usually do look of the day, and this is not really an entire look. HOWEVER I was lucky to not only attend a viewing for these rings, try on these amazing pieces of artwork for myself but, actually meet and gush all over the amazing designer. While today's look isn't an outfit, for the opportunity to wear this ring, I invite you to GO NAKED B*TCH!

So I present to you todays look, Rings by Sevan Bicakci ...........

Sevan is a Turkesh designer who was born 1972 in Istanbul and grown up in a district called Samatya. His biggest wish was to convert his dreams shaped by the magical influence of Istanbul's history, which have been there for more than two thousand years. And boy oh boy did he take that idea and run with it! Have a look....

Bicakci says his work is a reflection of the enigma that is Turkey today. Each ring takes up to one year to produce and all jewellery is handcrafted with only one piece being made for every design.

On his fixation on figures and using fruits, animals and insects as design elements I am like Alice in Wonderland. Just like her, I live in a fantasy world with nature blossoming around me. The fixation also has to do with my latest muse – my daughter, who’s not even three years old. I try to see things through her eyes and, sure enough, have created cocktail rings with miniature snails, clams and butterflies; necklaces adorned with bugs and beautiful insects. I am also trying to make clusters of octopuses, snails, starfish and stingrays that look very animated.

Sapphire, Diamond / 24k Gold

Reverse hand-carvings are another signature. Sevan personally carves each stone from underneath, depicting remarkably detailed, three-dimensional sculptures of whirling dervishes, the Virgin Mary, or even ladybugs.

Ladybug ring in 24-karat gold with carved amethyst, rubies and diamonds

Garden-creatures ring in 18-karat rose gold with green, black and blue diamonds and rubies

On why it takes him so long to make a ring There’s a huge difference between rings which are manufactured in a week or two and those which are crafted over a few months. Each ring in my collection takes up to one year to produce and all jewellery is handcrafted with only one piece being made for every design. Hence each piece is completely unique
Amethyst, Ruby, Diamond / 24k Gold, Silver

Sevan’s unique creations adorn not just the shelves of jewellery houses around the world, but also the fingers of celebrities like Halle Berry, Catherine Zeta Jones and Lindsay Lohan.
"Where I am from, rings are the mirrors of the personality of the wearer. They tell all about the wearer," -Sevan

Cake Walk....Mac Cosmetics Sugar Sweet Collecton

The Sweet Life

Who cares if the candy man can… it’s the cupcake ingenue who’s caught the sweet spot this season. Temptation is everywhere - luscious, whipped-cream decadent, deliciously decorative frosting colours and sugared almond combinations. Like peering through the window of a Parisian patisserie, you’ll want to become one of each! Have fun with a new Red Velvet recipe Shadestick. Tricolour Lipglass is like a mille feuille of layered lip gloss colours, each gives way to the next in a triple-layered pearl-swirl of prettiness; add extra yum to Eye Shadow; Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfinish is the ultimate cake walk. We could eat you up. -Mac

Coming up in March 2009, we have from Mac, the Sugar Sweet collection. Though, I am a HUGE fan of sugar spice and everything nice, pinks, shimmers and golds. With Sugar being within the title it would only be right for a majority of the finishes in this collection to be frost like and shimmery. Unfortunately, Frost just isn't a good look for me but I hope to still find something worthy of limited edition status. I'm still waiting for the WOW factor in a Mac collaboration, I haven't been really moved since Barbie, as far as limited edition collections go. It took me a moment to get use to the last collection of Mac Hello Kitty with its black casing which I later found to be chic and fresh. The colors just weren't what I was hoping for. I was expecting variety but, still amazing shades of rich and pastel pinks. I went fully prepared to purchase every item in the collection and ended up being fully content with just the Hello Kitty purse mirror. Enough about me. Below, a preview of this up coming collection and a description of the finish. Some are brand new and some are revamps brought back to life! Could be VERRYYYY Sweet. I mean, whats a cake with out frosting?! (-;

Carnival Del Barrio

Recently Keyshia Cole at the House Of Hype Island Def Jam Grammy Party at Wolfgang's Steakhouse on February 8, 2009 in Beverly Hills, California was photographed in the new Cristian Louboutin "Carnival " shoes and I adored her entire outfit from head to toe including jewelry and choice of hairstyle, which is very rare for me.

This past weekend Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony were at Madison Square Garden on Valentines Day Her feet were also decorated with the same very cute pair of Christian Louboutin with crepe satin feathers on the heel cap.

J.Lo wore the Louboutins with a stunning black Marchesa asymmetric dress ($3,550) (Which is currently available at Net-a-Porter.com.)

I like both looks, and I'm usually all about everything J.lo. I would have to give Keyshia Cole my vote. Though I feel less is not more, rather MORE is MORE. Excessive ruffles can become tricky, so when doing ruffles on top and bottom its important to proceed with caution.

I felt like J.lo's Marchesa was a beautiful dress but paired with the Carnival shoes it just seemed like a lot of ruffles everywhere. Carnaval heels ($1,665)

Thank you and Goodnight...no seriously GOODNIGHT

This years New York Fashion Week will be without the big party and glamor formally thrown by Baby Phat and Kimora Lee Simmons. Kimora has moved her collection out of the tents and into a much smaller venue and she cut her guest list in half. “Now’s not the time to be running all over and flaunting the money that we don’t have,” Kimora says. “Now’s not the time to have all these people come to the show who are coming because they’re your best friends — the people who need to be there are the buyers who need to see the clothes, the editors.”

Following this trend, a couple of weeks ago we learned Marc Jacobs not only canceled his Fashion Week after-party but cut his guest list down from The number of invitees has been cut from 2,000 to 700. Typically, 1,100 sit while 900 stand, but this season only 500 to 700 will sit while 200 will stand, with virtually all of the standing spots this season going to employees.

"This isn't the time to spend the money to entertain the entire world…. Everybody thinks it costs the same money to entertain 500 people as opposed to 2,000 [when you've got the space]," "It doesn't. All those 2,000 people still need to be seated, they still need to check in, this one needs this, that one needs that, and you know what? It's very costly."

Agreed!

Tranny Ice Cream... and all things that Sparkle

So, I got the idea for Tranny ice cream from one of my favorite new designers, Project Runway season four winner Christian Sirriano. I'm actually going to show his spring and fall collection from fashion week in an upcoming blog. So on this particular episode, the designers task was to create outfits for female wrestlers, and when asked he opinion on another contestants disaster pink sequined ensemble, Christian said, "it looks like tranny ice cream." Ahahahahah! Super funny! I swear I laughed about it all night! I guess you would have had to been there. Anyway, so with all the new metallic and sequined everything that I see everywhere I figured what better way to give a glittery nod to one of my favs, Christian by titling this post Tranny Ice Cream?! Enjoy....

In honor of Eccentric entertainment star and fashion industry icon Grace Jones' cover of V magazine

I present to you, one of my FAVORITE trends of this season....

"Sequins, Sequins, Sequins!" said Naomi

"

Karl Lagerfeld sent sequined hot pants down the runway for the S/S 2007 show... Paired with a simple lux jacket and fierce accessories, that one simple look deactivated an entire decades' worth of antagonism towards glitz and before you knew it, sequin was the look du jour." And is back this season for MORE!

During the 90's, the sequined look disappeared off the runway due to an overdose in the 80's. Sequins became associated with Dolly Parton, Vegas, and prom dress gone wrong. There is something utterly fantastic about sequins and it's ability to simultaneously conjure both playfulness and visual sensuality in a garment. Reflecting lights, sequins attract the eyes but at the same time compels the audience, the viewer, to look away. It's cheap if done wrong and pure splendor when done right. You can be both understated and bawdy at the same time. A socialite in one second and naughty lady in one look.

This has really nothing to do with this post but hellloooo hot pink graffiti leopard andddd Grace Jones? WORK!
